This page was last updated on 7/1/2005. Q: Can I email Russell?
A: Over the years, Russell has been asked to play at literally thousands of affairs, such as weddings, birthdays, commitment ceremonies, Bar Mitzvahs, Bas Mitzvahs, Bris ceremonies, New Years Eve parties, Valentine’s parties, St Patrick’s Day parties, Hat Parties, Memorial Day Parties, 4th of July Parties, Labor Day Parties, Holloween Parties, Thanksgiving Parties, Christmas Parties, retirement parties, going away parties, coming back parties (OY!), graduations, baby showers, engagements parties, bachelor parties, and of course, the Gala opening of the Metropolitan Opera House, just to name a few. He has refused to play at all of them (claiming a prior engagement). What makes you think that he has time to play at your sad affair (unless of course, you are the Queen of England)?
Q: Can Russell Read Sheet Music? A: Of course Russell can read sheet music, assuming that he has his glasses handy. In fact, on Thursday nights, Russell will sometimes bring a couple of fake books which he uses to play the more obscure pieces that one rarely hears. Most of the songs however, he plays from memory.
Q: Can I add any song to the song book? A: The purpose of the Song Book is to list the lyrics of the songs that Russell plays. So if he doesn’t play the song, there’s no point in adding the lyrics. However, there are many songs that Russell plays that haven’t made it into the song book. If you know the lyrics to these songs, please email them to Rob at RussellSongBook@aol.com.
